Enhanced Document Upload 1.0 Released!

Hi Everyone – as promised the Enhanced Document Upload solution is now available!
Go get it!

What is it?
The purpose of this solution is to provide a better experience when uploading multiple files into a document library that has required fields. When using the native upload process, files uploaded to such a library are checked-out by default – which then requires the user to edit each file, update the required fields and then save/check-in the item. The Enhanced Document Upload solution saves you time by allowing you to upload files and simultaneously complete the required fields. The files are then updated with the supplied values and checked-in to the library – automatically.

What does it look like?
Looks just like the native SharePoint upload experience – only better. See the screenshots in the previous post or in the documentation.

How do I get it?
You can download the solution right now from here: http://sharepointsnapple.com/enhanced-document-upload/

How much does it cost?
The solution is $299 per farm – unlimited users.

Why is it so inexpensive? I found similar products cost $500-800 per WFE!
Simple answer – low overhead (plus those other products are too expensive to begin with)

Is there an evaluation?
You bet! Just download the solution and install it – it will run in Evaluation mode for 15 days. The evaluation version is also limited to updating 5 items at a time. The licensed version does not have either restriction.

What about support?
I’m here – and quite frankly wouldn’t you prefer to talk to the guy who actually wrote the product rather than some customer service representative? Free support is on a best effort basis; paid support is available too!

Thanks to all who wrote and ‘encouraged’ me to release this tool. I hope you find it useful. If you do, please buy a license – it will help me offset my development costs and allow me to make more of the “best SharePoint stuff on Earth”.
